Why Do I Need Help Preparing For An IEP Meeting?
Families walk into IEP meetings without knowing the terminology, the procedures, or what they are entitled to ask for. The team on the other side of the table knows all three. That gap is not a matter of intelligence or effort — nobody teaches parents this — but it shapes the outcome every time. Closing it before the date arrives is the single most useful thing a parent can do.
What Does IEP Consultation Include?
Support may include IEP meeting preparation and strategy, reviewing and analyzing IEP goals, reviewing and analyzing Present Levels of Performance, helping you understand accommodations and modifications, reviewing whether the proposed services and supports genuinely address your child’s identified needs, helping you develop the questions and concerns to bring to the team, and preparing you to participate confidently and effectively.
Why Does A Former SPED Administrator Make A Difference?
I understand the processes, terminology, strategies, and challenges that families encounter when advocating for their children. I have seen the system from the inside. Knowing how decisions actually get made within a district is a different kind of knowledge from reading about the process afterwards, and it changes what is worth questioning and what is not.
When Consultation Sessions Run
Consultation is available Monday through Thursday, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM, Friday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Saturday 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Friday is the longest block of the week and the easiest to use for reviewing a full set of documents in one sitting rather than splitting it across two shorter sessions.

Two to three weeks is comfortable. Shorter timelines still work — a compressed preparation beats walking in cold.
